Decoding Rosacea

29 May 2019

As part of our Decoding Skin series, we're demystifying common skin concerns and types, and sharing with you the science behind our skincare to explain exactly how our creams work.

Rosacea is a common but poorly understood skin condition, however using skincare with the right ingredients can help minimize the ferocity of the condition. The Cream helps reduce post-flare up redness and aids the skin in returning back to optimal health.

Rosacea symptoms often begin with episodes of intense flushing of the skin, but other symptoms that are more obvious and painful can develop as the condition progresses. It’s known as a relapsing condition meaning that its symptoms can change in severity, although the exact cause of rosacea is unknown. Numerous external factors can also exacerbate rosacea such as strenuous exercise, hot or cold weather, hot drinks, alcohol and spicy foods.

Although there is currently no cure for rosacea, a regular skincare routine is one of the few things that can control the symptoms by using reparative ingredients and skin-calming extracts. Aloe Vera extract helps to quell the inflammation or redness in the skin, whilst potent antioxidants help to repair it post flare up. Amino acid extracts rebuild the skin after episodes of rosacea to restabilize its barrier’s function, and vitamin E in particular can aid in minimizing any post inflammatory hyperpigmentation as a result of the redness. Each of these ingredients can be found within The Cream , and help the skin stimulate with its own internal repair function; resulting in a calmer, more even skin tone.

*User trials revealed 85% of people agree that the product lessens the appearance of unwanted redness of the skin

Journalist and author Elizabeth Day found that the redness in her skin was reduced using The Cream : “My skin is grateful for the moisture, it’s evened out my skin tone and the redness has decreased,” she says.
