"It instantly conditions my skin and makes it feel soft, smooth, and hydrated, and it looks brighter and almost airbrushed"

Once in a while, a product comes along that not only shakes up the industry but also is suddenly on the top shelves and Instagram grids of every beauty-obsessed cool girl out there—the P50s, Byredos, and Vintner’s Daughters of the world. Without a doubt, the newest among this elite class of It products is Augustinus Bader’s The Cream, which became a celebrity and editor favorite practically overnight.

Since the success of The Cream, the brand has since expanded and includes its proprietary complex in other products for face, hands, and body as well as a collaboration with Victoria Beckham. Seeing as Glamour editors are constantly asked if the brand’s offerings are as good as their steep price tag would indicate, we put the entire range to the test. Read on for the Augustinus Bader products worth the money.

The Cream

After months of trial and error (and lots of maskne just to seal the deal), I’ve finally gotten my skincare down to a science. With my a.m. and p.m. routines on autopilot, I decided now was the perfect time to introduce my top shelf to THEE bougiest product ever to cross my threshold, the much-lauded The Cream. After rereading Sarah Wu’s love letter to the product, I’ve decided to hit pause on my other products and devote my face solely to The Cream. Two weeks in, I have noticed a more consistent glow. I have a sneaking suspicion that shea butter, an ultra-moisturizing ingredient that’s found in The Cream along with the brand’s patented TFC8 complex is to thank for the dewy finish. — Brionna Jimmerson, associate social media manager

The Rich Cream

There’s no way around it: This is an expensive moisturizer. But it’s also a rich and decadent moisturizer that’s unlike anything I’ve ever tried. It soaks right in, and my perpetually dry skin feels immediately plump and hydrated, which is probably because of the brand’s proprietary Trigger Factor Complex (i.e., a mix of omega-6 fatty acids, antioxidants, and nourishing essential oils like avocado, argan, and evening primrose) that gives your skin’s own healing process an instant boost. You can use morning or night, but because of its potency and thickness, I like it best in the evening for next-day, glowy results. —Talia Abbas, commerce writer

The Body Oil

To me, the epitome of luxury is drenching myself in a body oil that costs the same amount of money as a good pair of shoes, and this one does not disappoint. It has a gorgeous texture that’s not quite a dry oil, but it does immediately sink into my skin with almost no greasy feel left behind. It instantly conditions my skin and makes it feel soft, smooth, and hydrated, and it looks brighter and almost airbrushed.  I haven’t been testing it long enough to see any major differences when it comes to scarring and stretch marks, but if it does for my body what The Cream does to your face, I have very high hopes. —Bella Cacciatore, beauty associate
