Decoding Acne

28 May 2019

As part of our Decoding Skin series, we're demystifying common skin concerns and types, and sharing with you the science behind our skincare to explain exactly how our creams work.

Acne is a complex skin condition.

Acne breakouts occur when the hair follicles on the skin become blocked and that causes the nearby glands, which are attached to those hair follicles, to start to overproduce sebum. That excess sebum mixes with dead skin cells and your natural epidermal bacteria to form a plug in the follicle. All of this activity creates an acneic lesion which can manifest in a variety of ways, shapes, and severities.

The Cream works by targeting the skin cells in and around the hair follicles to harness their robust self-regenerating capacity and repair any inflamed skin. Using soothing Aloe Vera, reparative antioxidants and vitamins A, B, C and E help the skin get to optimal health, The Cream treats it by ensuring the skin’s self-healing factors are in prime condition to help repair damage and avoid future breakouts.

*User trials revealed 75% of people agree that acne blemishes visibly decreased in size and redness

Model Louisa Northcote, a long-time acne sufferer, explains: “I’ve always loved skincare. But having acne makes you weary, because you’re worried something is going to burn or aggravate your skin. It’s so calming, and I’ve seen a difference. I have no new spots and it’s started to help my scarring.”
