The Telegraph: The cult luxury face cream that Carla Bruni swears by

"My skin's texture is brighter, tighter and when I wake up in the morning, my skin is still super hydrated in a way that no other product has left my skin before,"

The skincare industry is constantly changing; there's always a new innovation around the corner to help our skin look its best. Lately it seems that treating skincare concerns such as wrinkles, acne and rosacea don't need topical treatment but in fact need to be treated at a cellular level by our body. The benefit? Our body already knows what to do and how to treat skin concerns, it just needs a little helping hand.

The German skincare pioneer Professor Augustinus Bader became an industry name when he launched his innovative and first-of-a-kind 'signalling' treatment cream last year - and the likes of Carla Bruni and Diane Kruger are already huge fans of his range. "The cream consists natural amino acids, high-grade vitamins and synthesised molecules naturally found in the skin," advises Bader.

Since its launch last year, the cream has become a cult staple among make-up artists and celebrities. So much so, the brand have recently launched a positive ageing campaign fronted by 42 year-old Diane Kruger and LA based make-up artist Pati Dubroff whose clients include Margot Robbie and Liv Tyler.

"This is the cream that is about more than just age," Diane Kruger tells us. "It's a cream that works with your skin and your body's natural process. It's like no other, and is the only moisturiser I use."

Model and former first lady of France Carla Bruni is also a huge fan of the moisturiser and has been using it  since it launched. In an interview exclusively with The Telegraph, Ms Bruni tells us, " I've been using this cream for over a year now and the results are incredible," she says. "My skin's texture is brighter, tighter and when I wake up in the morning, my skin is still super hydrated in a way that no other product has left my skin before," advises Bruni.

When asked about what she looks for in skincare Ms Bruni explains, "I've become really obsessed with product formulations and what they do for your body and indeed one's skin, both immediately and in the long term. I like to know what all the ingredients are and what they each, specifically do for your skin," says Bruni. "I don't often have time for a multi-step routine so I love that this product works super hard to do everything to my skin that I need it to. I travel a lot, so it's super convenient that I now only need to pack one product in my wash bag.

How does it work?
Your skin contains many stem cells. These cells lie dormant, awaiting the signal to heal damage such as acne scars, rosacea or broken skin. The technology works with the skin's communication signals to activate stem cells inside the body, boosting them, and committing them to the site of trauma. "It works with the body’s own natural repair process to regenerate the skin," advises Bader.

How does this help the ageing process?
Life inflicts little traumas on the skin all the time. Your stem cells are there to heal such traumas. As you get older, your skin becomes less adept at healing itself, instead often favouring scarring and pigmentation which you experience as your skin ages. The active ingredients in the face cream work to visibly reduce the signs of ageing and damage, leaving skin looking restored, regenerated and glowing with health.
