Professor Augustinus Bader
BEHIND THE SCIENCE

Augustinus Bader

Univ. Prof. Dr. Med., Adjunct Prof. (MIPT)

Professor Augustinus Bader is a globally recognized biomedical scientist and physician and one of the foremost experts in the field of stem cell biology and regenerative medicine.

In a career that has spanned the globe, the German-born Professor has spent over 30 years researching and developing technologies that activate and harness the human body's capacity to heal, with a focus on the reawakening of cells that become dormant due to aging or trauma. In 2008 he developed a groundbreaking Wound Gel that heals severe skin traumas without the need for surgery or skin grafts. It is this revolutionary technique that inspired Augustinus Bader skincare.

Professor Bader is currently the director of Cell Techniques and Applied Stem Cell Biology at The University of Leipzig, in Leipzig, Germany where he lives with his family.

Origins

Early on in his medical studies, Professor Bader traveled to Shanghai, China to work with burn victims at the Ruijin Hospital's Burn Center. It was here he first witnessed the immense trauma, suffering, and accompanying scar formation caused by burn injuries, especially in cases involving children – who usually require multiple difficult and painful surgeries to remove thick scar tissue that would otherwise cripple their growth development.

The need to eliminate this kind of life-long suffering later took him back to Germany, where he trained in the field of clinical organ transplant with pioneer Professor Pichlmayr - studying organ failure, traumatic wounds and furthering his research on the body's self-healing capabilities.

These experiences, his background as a surgeon, and his specialization in Medical Biotechnology drove Professor Bader to spend decades researching a treatment that would provide scar-free healing, culminating in 2008 with his development of a groundbreaking Wound Gel for skin regeneration.

The Breakthrough

In 2008, Professor Bader developed a groundbreaking Wound Gel that promotes the natural self-repair of traumatic wounds at a cellular level. From diabetic wounds to third-degree burns, the Wound Gel eliminates the need for surgery, skin grafts, or scar revision, and minimizes opportunistic infections that can create a circle of trauma for the suffering patients.

The Wound Gel functions by carrying a set of healing signals to the site of an injury, which, in turn, catalyzes a response from damaged skin cells and facilitates an expedited, automated restoration process. Professor Bader works with a select group of medical experts to develop ways to apply his breakthrough regenerative therapies in clinical practice.

AWARD-WINNING SKINCARE

The Blue Bottle Era

Backed by over 30 years of research in cellular repair and his deep understanding of stem cell biology, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, Professor Bader has developed the patented technology TFC8® - the renewing complex present in Augustinus Bader skincare line.

Launched in 2018, Augustinus Bader is a premium, science-led skincare line backed by the highest caliber of applied science in the industry.
