How To Use a Gua Sha
Gua sha is a natural stone tool used to massage the face and aid in lymphatic drainage. When used on a frequent basis, gua sha can help you to achieve a more chiseled appearance by depuffing the skin and accentuating your bone structure.
To fully experience these benefits, incorporate a gua sha facial massage into your skincare routine at least three times a week:
Step 1: Jawline. Start by holding the curved side of your gua sha at your jawline. Apply medium pressure and work upwards to the top of your face. Repeat this process on the other side.
Step 2: Cheekbone to Ear. Next, start just below your cheekbone. Move your gua sha from your cheekbone to your ear on both sides of the face. Use light to medium pressure.
Step 3: Eyes and Temples. The skin around your eyes is fragile and requires extra care and attention. Apply a light pressure slowly and gently from the inner corner of your eye to your temples. Repeat the process from your brow bone to your temple.
Step 4: Forehead. Hold the flat side of your tool horizontally along the bottom of your forehead. Pull gently upwards towards your hairline using a medium pressure. Repeat from left to right.
